Thursday
We started it off early with a concert in the park on Thursday night. The rain came and went a few times over the evening (although thankfully it was pretty light rain), but it didn't stop us from having a great time! West Linn was celebrating their 100th birthday, so in addition to having Johnny Limbo & the Lugnuts play, they also had free activities for the kids, birthday cake and fireworks! And the boys loved everything! We spent most of the evening at the bounce house with the boys, so unfortunately I didn't get to hear a lot of the music, but I still had an amazing time! And I was so excited for the boys to watch their first fireworks show. Owen wasn't sure about it at first with how loud it was, but he seemed to get into it by the end. Henry loved every minute of it and the first words out of his mouth when it was over were, "How come they didn't have more fireworks?"
It was my first time photographing fireworks and it was so much fun!
Friday
On Friday, the boys and I headed out to Molalla to meet up with some friends at an elk farm called Rosse Posse. Ava was celebrating her 2nd birthday there and invited us all to come along with her. We all checked out the bulls, mamas and baby elk, the kids enjoyed some time in a petting zoo (with goats, not the elk!) and just had fun together. Thanks for inviting us, Ava! I had no idea this place existed!

Saturday
Saturday was definitely our busiest day! We started out our day by checking out more of the West Linn Centennial festivities, enjoying a doggy parade, art projects and another bounce house. Henry and Owen even took turns trying out some frisbee golf!
After lunch and naps back at the house, we headed back out for an evening at the Clackamas County Fair! We checked out all of the animals, rode a few rides and of course had a few fair treats!

Henry LOVED this ride! He was so excited that he could control the spaceship going up and down. And poor Owen seemed a little confused riding backwards, but seemed to get into it!
Henry was allowed to pick 2 rides to ride and this was the 2nd one he chose. It was a hard decision because there were too many good choices, but he seemed happy with his decision!

Who can go to a fair without getting corn dogs for dinner?
Another fair staple? Cotton candy! I think Henry had tried it before when we were in Minnesota (almost 2 years ago!), but it was Owen's first time. Nate pulled out some and handed it to Owen, who proceeded to run around in circles squealing with excitement. And that was before he even realized it was to eat! Oh how I love how excited kids get about things, even when they're not sure what it was!

And that was all it took! It was definitely a hit with boy boys. And I took full advantage, capturing a few pictures while they were standing still!

And this shows just how tuckered out the boys were after the fair! I was actually able to get Henry out of the car seat, lay him on the floor, wash his face, brush his teeth and lay him down in bed without him waking up! Considering how light of a sleeper he is, that just showed me how tired he really was!
Sunday
They were able to rally the next day, and we headed out to see their first movie! I've thought about taking Henry many times, but we finally made it happen. I wasn't sure that Owen was old enough, but he did really well! He spent a little time on Daddy's iPhone, but otherwise made it through the whole movie. Knowing how much they loved the movies Cars & Cars 2, I guess it's no surprise that they loved Planes!
I refrained from taking my big camera, but had to at least snap a phone pic for their first movie!
After lots of resting, we headed out in the evening for dinner in the park with friends! We must have been having lots of fun, because I only ended up with a few pictures and some on Nate's phone!
