Sippy Cups

As the latest part of solid foods, we're working on teaching Henry how to drink from a sippy cup. Finally with our third sippy cup, I think we've found one that works!

OK, not quite . . .

Nope, not yet . . .

Fun, but still not there . . .

Closer . . .

There we are!

OK, so we still need a little more practice, but it's a step in the right direction!

Henry's First Teeth!

Henry's 1st two teeth have arrived! OK, I know they're just barely poking through the gums, and you probably won't even be able to see them in these pictures, but it's still exciting. Mommy didn't get her first teeth until she was over a year old, so we weren't sure how soon Henry would get his. If you look very, very carefully, you just might be able to see the bottom two teeth poking through.

And some practice teething on Daddy's hat :) . . .

More Swim Lessons!

We had our 2nd swim lesson this week and had a new friend join us! Harper was able to make it to our class, and we definitely needed her there to whip all those boys into shape. :) Daddy was also able to come and take a few pictures for us.

Getting ready for class to begin (Harper, Henry, Liam and Mommies). . .

Practicing our back floats and kicking. . .

And more fun! . . .

A Weekend Hike

On Saturday, we went for a hike in Tryon Creek. It was a beautiful day and Tilly was really excited to get out of the house. We had a lot of fun and went just in time since it poured all day Sunday.

Baby Swim Adventure

Last Friday, Henry and Liam started baby swim lessons! They had a ton of fun, and it's pretty neat to see what they'll be able to do after a few more lessons. Here they are in their swim diapers before class. . .

Don't worry, daddies, we did put them in their swim trunks! No baby speedo look for them. :)

Then on Sunday, we took them to the baby open swim. Mommy, Daddy and Heidi got in the pool with the babies and Pat was our official photographer.

Since they did so well at their lessons on Friday, we asked for some help teaching them to go under water. Both Henry and Liam did very well for their first time! Here is Henry after Mommy and Daddy tried the underwater practice.

Kicking around the pool . . .

Practicing our back floats . . .

And more playing . . .

So, this is how to get him to do tummy time . . . :)

A Henry photoshoot

Today we stuck around the house to catch up on projects, but took the time for a quick photoshoot. . .

Ok, ok, we're done! . . .

Another trip to the zoo

With a dry day mixed in with the rainy ones, we decided it was time for a trip to the zoo! Henry stayed awake for the whole thing and was able to see lots of animals. It was a bit cold, so some of the animals were inside, but there was still plenty to see . . .

Henry at 8 Months

Henry turned 8 months and has been having lots of fun this month. His 8 month stats are 27.5 inches long and 18 pounds, 0.5 ounces. Unfortunately for Henry, he had to get his flu booster shots at about 8 months, but fortunately for Mommy, that meant some official measurements!

This has been quite the busy month for him with the Holidays, his first snow, bowl games and lots of getting together with family and friends! He's active as ever, but no crawling yet. He is learning how to pull himself up to standing and still loves practicing walking (holding on to the hands of anyone willing). At this pace, he'll be walking long before he has an interest in crawling! :) He can't quite pull himself up from sitting, but he's doing a good job of holding himself up. In other areas he's busy mastering his eating skills (loves eating puffs - and doing a good job of getting them to his mouth), continues to practice his talking (nothing that we've understood yet - but we love talking with him anyway), and working on his sleeping skills. He slept almost 12 straight hours the other night! That's not the norm, but we're hoping it's moving that direction!

All right, enough talk, here are the pictures you're looking for:

Some practice standing (with Daddy's supervision) . . .
