Swings, Lawn Mowers & A Blast From the Past

Before the Heaphy clan left town, we made sure to get the boys together again for some more playtime.

First up on the agenda was a trip to the park to enjoy more of the sunny weather. All the boys took turns swinging, Henry & Liam did lots of sliding, there was a photoshoot in the grass for Emmett & Owen (like they had a choice), and Owen & Emmett rested on the way out while the older brothers took care of some landscaping.

Henry wasn't in the mood to play "bumper mowers", so he decided to pick it up. They compromised by mowing the long grass.

It took a bribe of bubbles to get the boys back in the strollers for the walk home.

Once back at the house, all of the boys took turns napping. Emmett & Owen took short naps and then were ready to play. I'm convinced it was to get some free time with all the toys without their big brothers running the show. As soon as they took interest in the train, it became necessary to recreate the Liam & Henry train ride seen here (at the bottom of the post).

And as evidenced by the hands flying in from both sides, the boys were well taken care of after the crash, so I couldn't help but snap a few pics.

And for those of you that don't want to link to the entire post, here is a quick picture of Liam & Henry from almost 2 years ago . . .

Easter

We had a busy and wonderful Easter. The Easter Bunny visited and left baskets of goodies and eggs hidden around the house for Henry & Owen to find.

The boys found their Easter baskets and checked out all their loot.

And later, Henry searched around the house for all the hidden eggs while Owen watched. It took a bit of convincing, but Henry eventually shared an egg with Owen. After that (and likely after hearing our happy reaction), he was excited to share many more eggs with Owen. When he's in the right mood, he is the sweetest big brother to Owen. I love seeing them interact with each other!

We headed to the Tulip Festival in Woodburn to join up with the Heaphy family in town for the week. We prepared for the usual Easter weather with rain boots, coats and Henry's umbrella. What we didn't prepare for was sunshine! We certainly did not need our coats and are so thankful that Heidi brought some sunscreen to share with us! That being said, it was a very welcome surprise and we enjoyed every bit of the sunshine.

Unfortunately, once we walked by all the fun activities, Henry only had eyes for that and was not too tolerant of walking through the flowers and taking family pictures. I did my best to take some shots of the boys, Heidi was kind enough to snap a few family pictures and then we headed back over to the lawn to explore all the fun activities they had set up.

Mommy got to play in the bounce house too since Henry seemed a bit shy to be in there by himself.

Henry, Liam, Emmett & Owen had the most fun on the hay slide. . .

We had dinner with the Heaphy Family at the Old Spaghetti Factory and enjoyed a little bit more of the wonderful weather. Nate convinced me I wouldn't need my camera to meet up with them for dinner. I should have known better! I should always have my camera ready, just in case! :) Luckily, Heidi was kind enough to share her pictures . . .

Playdate with Harper & John

Aaannd tax season got the better of me. But with the deadline over, and a few days of relaxing at the beach, I'm hoping to get back on track. And with that, here are some pictures from a playdate with Harper & John earlier this month. It was so much fun watching Henry & Harper interact. The funny thing was, half the time they were playing completely different games, but were oblivious to the fact that the other wasn't playing the same thing.

Some fun interactions I witnessed:

Henry: Harper! Let's do somersaults! Look at me!
Harper: Yeah, let's slide!!

Harper (on top of the slide playing the damsel in distress): Help!! I can't get down!
Henry (stops to look up and assess the situation): Just go down the slide.
Typical man trying to fix everything with a simple answer!
